General Model of Selection

On the main menu choose Selection and then General Model.

A window like the one below will be displayed.

Follow the steps to start the representation. First enter the fitness coefficient values for each genotype (w1 to AA, w2 to Aa and w3 to aa). Then enter genotype frequencies of AA and Aa, set the number of generations and click OK. The population points will be plotted inside the triangular coordinates with two points for each generation: one pre-selection (blue) and one post-selection (red), similar to the picture below.

To check the allele and genotypic frequencies in a classic Cartesian graphic simply click Generate Cart. Graph, and a window like the next picture is shown.

 

Another interesting feature is the Delta q graph that shows the variation of allele frequencies along generations, including stable and unstable points of equilibrium. Clicking on the button Delta q, will display a window with the graph shown below. Stable and unstable equilibrium points are circled in blue and red, respectively.
